    Question about CJ tracking system.

    Lets say that I get an HTML Link code for TEXT that looks something like

    <a href="http://www.tkkkkkk.com/click-12345-12345" target="_top">Buy all my products now man</a>
    <img src="http://www.kkktttt.com/image-12345-12345" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

    then I want to not only change the text, but just use the refferal link without the other business

    so it would become

    www.mydomain.com/bestproduct.php

    and the code of this page would look like

    <?php header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" ); header("Location:http://www.tkkkkkk.com/click-12345-12345"); ?>

    The Question I HAVE

    is why does CJ include a 1x1 image file in their text links? Is this some form of tracking that will kill the link credit if I do this sort of redirect?

    Or a better way to put, is if I do it like this will I get the credit?

    I've used my own domain and haven't had any problems with it ... :cool:
    But be patient that sometimes some servers are down and your clicks will go away so use a good host ...

    so you are saying as long as my server doesnt crash, that the clicks will go through?

    Then what I want to understand is why does CJ include the 1x1 image file with the text links? some sort of tracking?

    i don't pay much attention to banners ... so i don't know where is the 1x1 image ... but anyway you can open your advertiser page and go to Keyword Link ... then click on "Get HTML" ... now u see in the code part there is only one link ... you should promote this ... Good Luck;)

    It's for tracking impressions.

    phoniex did n't understood your question
    they are placing 1*1 images in text link also
    it is for tracking no. of impressions
    and i think the way you are going to use is not allowed
    what you can do is use a frame in it to do that
    i think it must be allowed

    it looks like u didn't understand ... I've seen many CJ stats in which CTR was not mentioned i mean most of CJ Publishers use PPC to promote their links, me included ... So it's legal and there's no problem with it ... About text link ... i didn't say text link ... i said Keyword Link ... Go & Check your account !

    The 1x1 image is for tracking impressions. I'd be careful about doing redirects as well...only use those where the advertiser approves of it. Check through their terms & conditions to make sure :)

    There is NEVER a problem of using your own PHP redirect to mask the affiliate link to visitors. Coupon sites do this all the time.

    Don't worry about the impression tracking pixel. Fewer than ~50% of affiliates use it with text links, and Keyword Links don't contain a tracking pixel at all.

    tvmatt,

    Good point about using your own redirects, had forgot to mention that. I've had problems with click numbers from ad servers not reconciling with the clicks that come through CJ though, it's kind of wierd.
