If you do a "link: www.example.com" search on yahoo, it returns the number of backlinks. However Yahoo has a tendancy to include links from your own site, so it's not a true inbound link count. What do I need to add to my search query to so it doesn't include it?
I would like to see the answer of this one as it interests me as well! People, please share your insights into this.
Go to: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ Type in URL and click explore URL button. Click Inlinks link. Select Except from this domain in dropdown box.
ya use yahoo siteeplorer instead of the link operator. you can see the indexed pages and backlink. and you can also filter the backlink.
Either you can use the link: operator on yahoo or yahoo siteexplorer it never makes difference since you are querying backlinks... I use the link: on Yahoo search bar instead of typing http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ on the address bar. Or if not use SEOpen add-ons if you're using firefox... Install it and just right click and see the Yahoo backlinks.... Cheers...
