Just a quick post for the for those whom care Link Profile Basics; We have 2 basic kinds of links; 1.IBL or InBound Link; a link from somewhere else on the web pointing ‘to a certain webpage’ 2.OBL or OutBound Link; a link on a webpage ‘pointing somewhere else’. Context or Relevance is important using these terms, it is subjective. Let’s say I am discussing an IBL to your site… we go to the page to look at it. It is now an OBL as we discuss it. Why, because if we’re at their page, it is an OBL pointing to your site. If we’re at YOUR page it is an IBL. Lol Back Links; back links are basically links pointing to your site or a given page on your site. ‘This page has 20 back links’. You could use it in strategic terms, ‘ I need to build more back links to that page’ Types of Back Links; We have 2 types of IBL. (back links) to your site One Way Back Links (we use OWBL…yeah I know); these are NON-RECIPROCAL links to your site. It denotes a more honest ‘true’ vote, considered to be more ‘natural’. Reciprocal links; a link where you also link back to the site linking to you. Not considered as strong as it is often used to manipulate search engine algorithms. We don’t encourage en-masse link exchanges. A more ‘relevant’ and targeted reciprocal campaign is best. You know, for ACTUAL promotional reasons, not to SPAM the engines? Your link profile is basically the cumulative score of the factors above. Search Engine algorithms are getting extremely good at picking out ‘Link Spammers’.
