So as PageRank is updated and many domains from which links were sold have lost pagerank and those which according to Google are good kept their pagerank I guess link prices will slightly jump because many links were sold from dropped domains for cheap, and many of which have dropped PageRank now. So those who kept their pagerank should be considered more 'worth it', at least according to Google, and links from those domains should be considered more valuable, do you think? All opinions are respected,
I will be raising my prices, yes, why? Because good sites are worth more now. Because a PR3 is already good now. Because the price must be worth the risk. Because I'm greedy... J/K (well, maybe a little)
Yes, I have strong pr6s that did not drop and infact now have inner prs! I will be selling these links at about a 20% increase since I now have proof that they are real PR6s! But I also have pages that are going to be 6s in the next update so...
This isn't the place for this thread. Please be more careful next time. I will sell my links at exactly same price since I don't see any good reason for me to increase. Many people got a wake up call with this latest update especially the ones that bought cheap links from dropped domains.
I think this is the most important point. People selling links are obviously risking their SERPs and PR more than they were before so the price should go up.
My page have increased to pr3 and pr4 for a subsite on the same domain. I'm still selling it for the same price as above. But i can imagine that people will sell them for more.
Actually i thought on where would be the best place, as it is about PageRank and Link Sales, and we dont have a PageRank forum here on DP i posted it under Link Sales, but i would like to hear your suggestion. On Topic: I have been checking my mailbox for high pr link offers and see that domains selling many links have lost PR dramatically. like from pr7 to pr2 or sth. Thats why I will agree with most comments that say if pagerank has not dropped, it means its more valuable than before, also considering risk of loosing PR and SERPs I will increase link prices too.
Simple economics at work here - 1) Greater risk, higher reward. 2) Supply/demand. Supply is going down since everyone is running around screaming "paid links make u filter in google!" like idiots. Demand stays the same = higher price. Really, we should be thanking Google. Someone send the webspam team a birthday cake or something.
Really? Paid links work. Links are the currency of the web. They have always been around and always will be - until we move into web 3.0 and powerset comes along to blow us all away. ;-)
I also think that links work, I opened a new website which had completely premium content, it was academic articles from the electronic library of the university i study in, that content was never published and i run a test drive publishing abstracts (which is open to everyone in terms of copyright) on the web, i was getting no hits from google even if it was indexed, but after i got few links from here and there, pr3 and pr4 links, it started to work. having no links means loosing serps to competitors who has worse content than you do.
Bingo. My analogy: Google walks into an empty bar. Google turns around and leaves. Google walks into a bar with a few patrons sitting around drinking some brew. Google decides to stay and drink for awhile. (or something like that.)
Google appreciates NATURAL links not what you buy. However I have web PR5 without buy any links. The best way and cheapest is articales and social webs. However if you have enough money and happy to wast it you can do. This is my own but very strong opinion. All discussion about usefulness of links carry on by owners who make a business to sell them. This is same like MacDonalds rubbish food with good advertising
This is the BTS section. You only post here if you want to buy or sell. When discussing Page Rank normally it goes on the Google section.
This is the BTS section. You only post here if you want to buy or sell. When discussing Page Rank normally it goes on the Google section. Since they moved it to the Marketing section under Link Development I guess that's the place for it to be. That's not exactly how I would analyse it but I guess it's close enough. So what we must do is make Google stay for a drink or two but remember not to have to many free drinks otherwise Google will start to think there's something up.
yeah, whatever. So the original question is 'Do you expect increase in link prices after this PR update?' all opinions respected.
