which should be given more importance for web marketing or online marketing success: link or content???
You need both content and links. Good content will make other sites link to you easier than if you have bad content. Basically, make 30 articles for your site so it looks like a decent website. Besides content you need to have good layout of the site as well so it visually appeals to people. To make good content then a good way is to simply go to wikipedia.org and learn some about your subject and then write for 10 minutes a day as much as you can (without proofreading). Do that for 30 days and you have your 30 articles. One example for 10 minute writing would be: The Golden girls was a American sitcom show that started in the early 80ties and ran for 5 years from 1984 to 1989 and featured 4 likeable middleaged women who lived together in California. They all had very different personalities and the chemistry between them was great. The show covered topics that varied a lot from children, familuy, work, relationships, death, disease, aging and more. The Golden Girls show was the first show and only so far where all it stars were middleaged women in a normal environment not being super rich, super beautiful or similar. The humour was clean in the show but still never doll at any time. The cast made the show come to life more than anyone anticipated at that time and even today 20 years after it finished then it is still being syndicated. It is one of the rare shows that can be seen by the whole family and is a timeless classic. These days then Two And A Half Men with Charlie Sheen is even more popular than Golden Girls were back then but both shows have in common a stellar cast and good script writers. Golden Girls show is now tried to be revived with a new cast but with a twist so it also includes a few younger cast because the average viewers today will not likely accept to see a show only revolving around middleaged women. That even 25 years ago made the show unlikely to be a success but they still made it hugely popular at that time which was truly against all odds. Hope you can see from above that good content can be created by yourself and within short time if you choose to pace yourself with a 10 minute limit.
I would say content is more important, once your website established with rich informative content, you will get natural link just as wikipedia
There’s a long standing debate in the search marketing industry about links versus content. Which is better? On the one hand there’s the perspective that if you create great content, people will link to you naturally. That’s true, but it’s a bit misleading. On the other hand there are those that say links are the answer. You can get pages to rank well based purely on links. Again, that’s entirely possible, but such a statement does not give you all the facts.
first you need content, then you will need links. no matter how good your content is, you will not rank high unless you have links. good content will get you some natural links but if you are in a competitive field and running a site with a sole intention of making money online, then you will need to run your own link building campaign
Think first think about the great contents and unique, when people think your contents is great they will add it for you free
BOTH! You cannot be successful by having just one or the other. You need links so that people can find your content. You need great content so that when they arrive at your site, they convert... and hopefully some go on to link back to your content because they found it useful. Never try to separate the two... Doing so is a formula for failure.
as social-media says, both. links are always likely to have a slight edge over content (ever wondered why some lame 1 page site is tops for a really competitive term?) because links are harder to 'fake' than content.
Content of course Sure some sites may have lots of links but terrible content and rank high but they are highly unlikely to make any money. If your site has good content your visitors are likely to come back again. Without good content isn't also impossible to sell anything so even a landing page must have good content. Regards, Jack
Both! Great content will get you links, but no one will know that you have great content if you didn't have links. If you want to rank high you'll need both.
Merna, Great answer that was answered before. I am sure that it is well known now that you need both to rank. Now lets dissect the answers. First you need content to get links but you need links so people will read your content Sounds like the which came first the chicken or the egg question. Still a bit confusing to newbies that is for sure. Now if you really want to know what is important. It is both. But, you need to build both at the same time. Get your content and start building links through social bookmarking. Do this with each blog post, article, video or picture that you put on your site.
The answer is obviously a bit of a disagreement much like which do you need more food or water. Since you can last longer without food than water but when the day comes that you are on death's bed you need food. Practically speaking you can have great content but who cares if no one knows you are there? Oh but you say they will find you if your content is good enough? Huh? Honestly how long will that take? You say it depends! This is a circular argument and the guy simply wants to know: which should be given more importance for web marketing or online marketing success: link or content??? My answer is: Don't ask the question as it suggests that one really is more important when it isn't. At the end of the day they both are, perhaps at different times but in general they are both extremely important and the question suggests that someone can tell this gentleman that ONE is MORE important than the other so he can concentrate on it rather than the other and you all know you have to have good/great content and you have to have many high quality links. BTW this is duplicate content as I have been looking at these questions for at least two years and apparently no one has answered it to everyone's satisfaction. Sigh............................
Content is king. Links are queen. Don't forget that good quality content generates links on it own anyways!
Thanx 4 ur rplys bt there are numerous cases where a site with mor relevant content ranks much lower dan one that has less of that. The objective is to rank higher for a search result. even if a site ranks lower inspite of having a good content, then wat's the use of having it?? on the other hand, getting a good link or a link from a good site requires less effort. so wen something can be acquired with less effort, why go 4 something more effort-giving???
