Both are equally important.But content is first priority.

If you have good content on your site.As a result, other people automatically link your article on there site .
With a little promotion you will get back links and high traffic.

In short,

If content is good then your reader help in making backlinks by sharing your article.

 

Both, i think. In the end, it will drive you a traffic from both of them. Links will make your site higher page rank, it will give you traffic from search engine. Good content also give you traffic.

 

Both are important, actually it's vice versa...If u have good domain name and crappy content...then no profit...so,u must concentrate in both.
