Link or content?

What is more important? Link or content to get good search engine result?

 

they are both important... if you dont have enough content for the search engines to grab and put in their index then when people enter a term related to your site they won't find you because you haven't populated anything relevant........likewise if you have good content but no incoming links the same will happen...

You really can't rule out one or the other.....

 

I will rate content one step above the link... because good content brings possible links... but links cant help created good content and about content above @PaulCpR has said it right...

 

Yes, links are no good without content. And no one wants to link to you if you do not have content unless you buy the links. Even if you do get to the top of the SERPs without content you just increase your bounce rate that in return will kill your SERPs anyway.

 

I think that both are important to your ranking. Google places importance on sites that have a large number of backlinks, however to really get the rank you want, your content must be relevant to your keywords and description and to any webmasters who you are asking to link to your site. Chances are a high PR backlink is gonna be reviewed by human eyes unless you pay for it.

 

Both. But I prefer to create good content and good SEO tehchnique first. With good content you'll get higher chance to get backlink from other blog/website. SEO needed to increase your SERP. And if your content are good and unique, you'll get much backlinks and traffic.

 

Here's a good example of the power of backlinks...

Do a Google search for the words click here, http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=click+here&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10&fp=KxYPMM6r3XA , you will see the 1st and 2nd results are adobe.com, and yet the keywords click here DO NOT appear anywhere on their entire site

The reason they are ranked so high is because of all the backlinks with the anchor text click here

I think both are important, but content may be a liitle more important..

 

Obviously it is links for getting good search engine results, but good content will bring back traffic, the same traffic.

 

These two factors are equally important in SEO. Good content will drive traffic to a site, while backlinks will improve your ranking. They complement each other.

 

Both these things can not be selected with 'either' or 'or' as they both are integral part to making a complete process!

One is simply useless and not effective, however good it may be... in the absence of the other. So I would say both are important as in the absence of the either one, the other becomes completely useless!

funkymario answered your question, you need both. You can have great content but unless you promote it no-one's going to know about it.

If you have rubbish content you can get people to come to your site but will they come back?

Link or content both are important to index your page in Google. First if you ignore the content then your site is no meaningful and only good content site is cached by Google and link is also important , if you have no link then your site weight will less and Google do not index this type of site so you should not give attention only link, you should also give full attention towards content.

 

both are important......Content with the relevant link..............but make sure it should not become a link farm.....

combination of both are important factor of gaining success...

COntent is always a retainer when it comes to getting more people to come back to your website But you need linkage in order to attain those people in the first place
