I've just added one of my websites to wikipedia. Its a site thats basicly made from information from wikipedia, and other info from other sites (aswell as books etc).

    it's a very small site, with 12 pages indexed, and has the max amount of adsense possible. -- I'll see how long that lasts on wikipedia ;)

    Cheers.

    p.s if there is no "exteral links" section on your page you want to add somthing to, use this:

    ===External Links===
    * [http://example.com/link_1 The Link Text]

    Code (markup):

    I've managed to get 3-4 links on wikipedia in various sections. The key seems to be to contribute content/pages then add your links. I get both relavent links and a fair bit of traffic from them :D

    edit: I should add, for every link I got on \I probabl had 3 or so removed, its just a case of hoping and putting them where they are actually useful.

    That's all you can really do with Wikipedia for links, and even sometimes your info/links will get deleted for random reasons... no matter how valid :confused:

    It's horrible how sometimes they keep your contribution but delete the source link...

    anyone can edit these pages.. Anyone in the entire world.. I am guessing that could be a big reason why things get deleted.

    setup a users page. That hardly ever gets modified or deleted by the admin moderators.

    I added 5-6 links to wikipedia, all of them for a niche topic. All have stayed for 3+ months.

    I've received 533 uniques this month alone from adding my site to wikipedia.

    Looks like wikipedia is cleaning up many external links. I'v lost 50-100 visitors today... I guess one should read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:EL carefully. So your links is correct.

    yes, i lost one of my links the other day -- wikipedia was the sole source of traffic to that website, so i've gone down from 200 uniques to just 6-10 a day. very sad.

    OK, the site is very "MFA" -- but it does have a lot of info.

    I'll post it again later in the month i think. Maybe it will get through this time.
