so you don't need to do anything famous like I said before and have someone else write an article for you?

What's the link to the article submission...

I haven't noticed it very valuable. It brings ~4 visitors a day and don't boost SERPs much.

I get a good number of visitors from wikipedia, but I generally just list specific resources, like my press release template for example. I do know people who have been "reprimanded" though for adding too many links, or things that weren't useful to the topic page (like just adding their same link to all related topic pages and such).

I have maybe 30 links in overall from Wikipedia, and ~4 hits a day is average. I haven't noticed it could go more than ~30 a day for top articles on Wikipedia.

I got 108 from Wikipedia yesterday, and probably have no more than 10 links there (not sure if it's even that many). So it's worth it in my case. I think it's mostly to the press release template still (used to be at least; haven't checked the stats on that today). I would think tools like that would probably get better clickthroughs, because they're a more obvious "supplement" and not something already covered on wikipedia.

Getting a link from Wiki as mentioned isn't difficult... you can simply put it there yourself.

Getting the BL to stick is another subject...

Some of our clients sites have appropriate content (which we generated) just to garner the link from wiki.

Although the SE's count it currently... soon those links will not be a factor for keyword ranking.

Wiki should be looked at as a traffic center, not a backlink generator.

Very soon, the backlinks obtained at Wiki will become discounted by the engines.... but you didn't here it from us!

gosh people... you are not famous.. you are note note worthy.. This is why a) you wont have a real page built for you and as far as putting your links as external links on peoples pages I dont think its a big shock you are not getting traffic. If you want traffic stick to posting ads on google base and craigslist and myspace.

If you want a quality back link then setup a USERS PAGE that wont get banned from wiki and get some inbounds for it. This same technique is used all over the place for link development .. setup a squidoo account get inbounds and point that page to one of yoru sites.. its very simple but you guys need to know what sites are good for and use them to your advantage instead of posting and posting about this.

I think I'm going to just write up some good articles revolving around my site and bring up the ranking and some more useful visitors...
