link on main page or in single file ??

Hello Guys

Which one is better for link exchange ??

1- having the link on the main page footer (www.yoursite.com/index.php)

OR

2- having the link on internal file like (www.yoursite.com/links.html)

please guy tell me is it the same effect to Search Engines or one of them is better than the other ??

Whichever has the higher PR is the better backlink.

 

Well home page sure does carry more weight that internal pages but it should not be forgotten that in some cases internal pages could be more relevant than the home page. Therefore placing links on internal pages in such cases would be more advisable. It all about thematic relevance.

 

I forgot to mention that PR is important but don't sacrifice relevance for PR.

 

True, the most relevant and highest PR page is best. links.html will usually not be good though.

while the single file links contain only other links from other sites
