EDIT: I was being blonde, now I got it fixed. Thanks to all who provided great suggestions! OK, I'm completely baffled. If I type "link: saynotocrack.com" in Google, it shows 22,000+ links, including comments I've left from other sites. At first I thought Google had removed the filter that only shows select links (since yesterday I only showed ~800 links via Google). But then I typed "link: http://www.saynotocrack.com" and it only showed 4. I tried with other BIG sites that showed thousands yesterday (e.g. neatorama), and receive almost nothing today. Is Google Search on the fritz, or am I completely missing something? Thanks!
command itself is working for me... but it doesn't work for its purpose... use Yahoo! Site Explorer to check backlinks.
If you are including the space between link: and the url you are not using the link command you are searching for two words. You'll probably see the word link bolded, which means its just a regular search. It should be link:saynotocrack.com, which should return the same number of results no matter how you type it link:http://saynotocrack.com, link:http://www.saynotocrack.com, or link:www.saynotocrack.com
Try using @: instead of link: I don't completely understand it but @: shows everything G has and links shows what G wants to show.
LOL!!! Originally I typed "or am I just an idiot", I should have left that in my original question. That was the problem! Too bad there's not a "hiding in shell emoticon"
After a while... "@" that's not a tip... you can just put your link without "http://" to get same results. And more - other characters works same... it seems that "@:..." is just ignored by search engine.
One more thing - I think it's just plain keyword search. Not all of these results are counted as link backs.
bueehehe, and what did you get with that tip? nothing? and what about #: tip, and %: od $: tips? please, stop it...
