Hi, I get zero results when doing a search for "link:mysite.com" in google, and I have over 200 backlinks. I also tried "link:www.mysite.com", still nothing. What can that be? Thx Dantes
Google no longer displays all a sites backlinks when using the link: search - to find out all backlinks for your site that Google recognises, register for Google Webmaster Central, add and verify your site and take a look at the "Links" tool.
Googles shos very few backlinks and updates like once in 3 month (ysualy when PR update happens) so don't count on it Use yahoo they show olmost evry backlink
MSN also shows all of the links. Google will show some, but it seems to be an arbitrary amount of them. I remember reading way back when that they hid the results of that search to protect the integrity of their algorithm. Go figure..
you should use the google webmaster tools to get your backlinks. anyhow, i noticed link: wasnt working for my site either, though I seen a nice trick recently. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_qdr=all&q=www.mysite.com+-site:www.mysite.com&btnG=Search Pierce
google backlinks are not updated realtime at least for us ordinary webmasters when it is updated they only show a sample of them.
This returns the internal pages for the domain. To verify the backlinks you should try: "linkdomain:www.yoursite.com".
