I joined linkmetro, I paid for the full account, but I can't seem to get my account up,

I have emailed their support and get no response

    they ask for

    FTP server: *
    FTP username: *
    FTP password: *
    MySQL host:
    MySQL username:
    MySQL password:
    Control panel URL: *
    Control panel username: *
    Control panel password:

ummm, what control panel are they talking about?

And do they need the ip of mysql? what are they looking for "localhost" or what?

I have a basic account and it sucks. People expect me to link back to them from my main page when their link is in some PR n/a link farm page... The navigation sucks even more. The only good thing is that people keep on adding my link to various directories, and then requesting a link exchange pretending that directory belongs to them. So i just ignore it and end up with an extra link.

Yea, if they owned the directory as well. I even put "im not interested in 3 way linking" in my description but people just ended up using it as an achor text etc. Naaaaaa, i just get too much junk from them...

I use both LinkMetro and LinkMarket. Linkmetro has been no problem for me. Account took a few minutes to setup. I didn't get asked ftp, MySql ... but that might be for the advanced users that was setup a couple of weeks ago.

The FTP and other details are to ADD links to your website when you Approve a request . It is in the new automatic link exchange scheme so you do not have to manually keep adding links to your website . They will I guess Generate a page with a new link on your server .
I don't have that paid account but I get about a link request everyday from free account . Slow but I do not know much about finding link partners so that works fine for me .
And it looks like I cannot add a smily from this little box here .

Can you guys suggest some free programs I can join and be benefitted .Probably if you have a referrer scheme going in yours ?

    Bye

I signed up with LM to get new travel related links for my site. Most of the sites in the travel category are crap and the few that look interesting don't event respond to link exchanges. I've gotten less than a dozen good link exchanges.

The linkmarket free account is ok; but there are so many pharmaceutical/gambling sites who want to exchange links with you!

No no, ferret77 ! :) I am also used linkmetro. We have send private messgefor threeway link programming. And really very positive and instantely replay. BUt only thing is burn me that HIs page uploading take many time sometime 3 or for minutes, and more thing they have not make buttons for deleting our links where we have not wish for link exchanging. Anotherwise all thing is good.

Are you talking about Link metro account where you don't want to accept a link from someone ?
There is a REJECT Link you can click . You will need to provide a reason for rejecting although .
Very useful If you send a double request to someone .
    Regards
    Bye

I finally got the stuff going, it seems pretty good, a little clunkier then linkmanager but it seems to have a pretty good base, there is about 8,000 possible link partners in there

I would rather you did it manually - the old traditional way. I recently came across a little FREE tool for the same @ http://www.webconfs.com/backlink-builder.php Check it out and I hope you will find it very handy...

I just added my sites a while ago and people put up my link and send link requests. They always put them up on totally unrelated crap sites, but hey. They're good filler links and they aren't reciprical :D

its pretty good they sort the link people by whoever trades the most , so if you are active you get in front of the deadbeats, and dead listings
