    Hello
I seriously need to get a grip on link loving, i've heard about link wheels and other various connection generators though i'm trying to stay clean as i've heard google don't value such behaviour.

Many have told me that the best way is to exchange with none competitors as this carries the most weight with the engines.

I've sent a couple of e mails out and yet no one responds , no yes or anything , not event to say thanks for asking but go home loser. My request is some advice on how i can improve my search for decent links.

    Thanks for any help

    James

Look for relevant sites. Write an article and submit it to EZineArticles. Throw some links on some dofollow Social Book Marking Sites. Maybe a couple of niche directories.

There are two ways to get links:
    1) On sites where you cannot get a link without the webmaster putting it there, you must email the webmaster and ask.
    2) Sites that allow you to put a link yourself.

Obviously, #1 is better if you can get those links. I have gotten links this way from Stanford, Cornell and MIT. But to do it you need truly world-class content. I have had professors from these universities tell me they are using my material as required reading. They don't do it to be nice.

#2 is much easier, obviously, but the links will never carry the same weight so you need more of them. To get enough you need to automate, or outsource. These links include:
    - blogs
    - blog comments
    - social bookmarking sites
    - social voting/promotion sites
    - article directories
    - videos

I personally recommend that you do all of the above with links directly to your site, and then use social bookmarking sites to promote the blogs, articles and videos.

Don't bother with manually exchanging links - WAY TOO time consuming and reciprocal links don't count for much anymore.

Start with articles - use anchor text and submit to top 20 article directories. There are a ton of ways to get quality backlinks that are much easier and better than exchanging links.:)

I think that you should go for articles as mention by Dadeon

I would suggest you to do 3 way link exchange if you have to exchange links.

One way link is still the best. So, buy it, steal it or make it! :)
