Cleaning up links. Using a page linking to your site is a good way to increase your rankings with the search engines as well as PR.

This method assumes the following points
    1) You’ve been doing SEO long enough that you already have a list of sites that you can easily get links from (not the one you are trying to promote).
    2) You agree that having one quality link to your site from many different quality sites is better than having a bunch of links coming from one domain.
    3) You can write a decent article or can have it written
    4) You have a little money to work with.

The idea is pretty simple, find high quality sites on your topic of interest and offer to write an article for them that they can host on their site, with the agreement that you will put 1 or 2 links back to your site in the article and that the article must be linked to from the sites front page or a high ranking page. In addition, make the agreement that other than adsence, the site owner will put no other outgoing links (other than internal navigation links) on the page you are hosting. Let them have adsence this encourages them to continue to promote your page.

Write a high quality article and have it hosted on the site. Now with the link sources that you already have start linking to the article.

By boosting this page you will be getting a link from a site that is trusted by the search engines, on a page that is directly related to your keywords. This allows you to continue to reuse the same link sources you already have over and over to benefit your site.

In a way you are likely already doing this with press releases, article submission sites, hubpages, squidoo and the like. The difference is all of these sites are general in nature and are not trusted sites in the particular topic you are working on. Also in almost of those sites there are many, many links on the page both internal and external and so provide limited value.

The biggest downside to this, is that with most sites you would want to do this with it will likely cost monthly to host the page.

Just a tip on how to get higher quality links.
