We have some links on high PR pages. Those pagese have 40, 50 and even 100 external links (and many internal links as well). Since we spend a considerable amount to keep the links, do you think this is worth it to push up in serps all our "single-keyword" related search or is better to invest in lower PR sites but with 4-5 external link at max? We are looking for a PR8 page with no more than 4-5 external but it seems so hard to find, even if you offere several $$$
The problem with paying for links is that the person selling them is going to keep selling them on a given page. So you are always going to end up with lots of links on the page. What position are you in google and for what keyword? I have had lots of success with first 5 positions for all my sites.
We are 3rd position on a 26 million results (google) keyword. The position in good, btw we are trying to reach first pos. It's right they will keep selling but if you come to an agreement where the sites assures it will not put more than n. links this would be ok. I'm just wondering how much useful could be to have a link on a pr7 site with 60 external links ahead of yours rather than having a link on a pr5 site with only 4-5 external.
I was thinking and it may be better on the PR7 because of the authrority of the page. Of course you won't get as much "PR Juice" if there are 60 other links, but its still a link from a PR7 page.
I believe the factor here would be relevancy. I would go for PR5 page if it was more relevant then the PR7, if both are relevant, PR7 might be worth it. At best, get both.
The PR5 site could be a slightly better option because the PR7 one verges on looking like a link farm and thus it passes less link juice, but then again the PR7 is probably exponentially better in the first place. It's a tough call and I don't think I could make it unless I knew exactly what the two pages were.
