A quick question for veterans. Site is very well respected, ranks well and has a PR 4 Does getting a link from PR 0 page of that site is any good?
It won't hurt, but probably won't help much either. But then again, a backlink from PR 0 could be better than a backlink from a PR 2. There are many factors that influence the 'benefits'. How many outgoing links are on that PR 0 page? How close to your topic is that PR 0 page? How well does it rank? What is the anchor text? etc. etc.
Hey Thanks. The topic is spot on, site is very influential in the field, and there is a high number of inner links(about 40), that is linking internally, while about 5 referrals to other properties, since the site is more of a portal or a hub.
1. What do you mean by "an authority site"? (thread title) 2. If it's a dynamic page (e.g., PHP, ASP) and a relatievly new internal page, absence of public PR is to be expected. Is it really PR0? or is it PR unknown?
getting links from lower PR sites will not harm, actually it will help a bit if you got LOTS of links from lower PR sites. so dont worry.
Well....link from a relevant site never hurt but benefit PR no matter a lot for it. But ya....link from higher PR is more valuable than relevant link with PR 0 but still relevant link with less PR have some value. So remember relevancy is more important than PR.
