This is probably already being used by a lot of members but thought I'd mention it anyway. One way I've found to rank especially well for a particular keyword is using the keywords as your username. For instance if you were targeting "silly wingdings" you'd want your forum username to be just that, silly wingdings. Why is this useful? 1. A link to that page will be linked from every thread you post in, as well as from the homepage if you remain logged in constantly. The title will have those keywords in it and also contain the title inside the page. 2. By using a portion of your dp coop weight towards this page you can nearly guarantee as long ass the keyword isn't too oversaturated you will rank in the top 10 in most se's. 3. This is totally free as opposed to a typical prweb press release like most believe to be a good idea (I think that's still a good idea as well). 4. You get a link from this page to your homepage! Is anyone doing this? Any great success? I've tried it on other forums and am considering doing the same here soon. Also are links to dp threads/profiles allowed in the coop?
i'm confused.. doesn't your username link back to a DP page on your profile? for isntance when i click your name i go to http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?userid=2590 not iconrate.com ... how is this considered a backlink?
I was referring to once you click the profile you can see a link to your homepage as well as a screenshot for it. I'm not doing it personally but have given thought to it... targeting a not so comptetive term.
Put your link in your signature, you can use your keyword directly. They will also appear in your profile anyway.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q="design+agent"&btnG=Google+Search profile page ranks #6 for "design agent" I think this would be similar with nearly any keyword and would do much better with some coop weight pointed at it..
