Im competing with various arcades for a keyword. Lots of the arcades in the top 10 search results have the 'add your link here' feature. Would this help my site for SEO If i added my link there? Obviously i have to link back but i thought it would benifit me more because Im lower down is the SERP's? Please could someone let me know Thanks
If you can get a link from any website in the top10 for your keywords, it is usually worth doing so. If possible try to offer them a link back from a separate website so that you get the benefits of a 3-way link exchange. Reciprocal link exchanges probably don't help rankings as much as they once did, but a link from a related website can at least provide some quality direct traffic.
yes, it can work. I myself have seen many arcade sites in top #10 for very competitive keywords and all are having link exchange pages! Though lets not generalize it by saying link exchanges are doing wonders and if you see, all these arcade sites are huge and old and are authority sites.
