Hi, I'm new to this forum - and haven't read all threads yet but, I was wondering, before in Google, it was bad to exchange links with someone that has nothing to do with your site (I.E I have a Dog related site, so if I traded links with a computer related site, it would be bad...) is this still the general idea nowadays?? Thanks!
That's why you must first conduct a research or surely check the site you want to exchange your link in, it would not be a good idea to link your site to a site that has no relevance on what your site is all about.
Try to make relevant back links for your website, that will surely help. Ex. if your site is about dogs , than try to get back links from the website related to animals and wild life.
If you know Google's SEO law, the link exchange should not hurt your websites. Each page is allowed to have max 25 outgoing links.
My Dear Friend Can you show me the Google's SEO law and where it is written ? Ok you are saying each page is allowed to have max 25 outgoing links. Where google has stated this ? Of course its ture that minimum the number of outgoing links less the Page Rank juice will pass over to those site and vice versa. Second thing is that link exchange with relevant site is best and with non relevant is bad but are you aware of the another aspect of reciprocal link exchange that either you share links with 25 relevant outgoing sites or less will always going to pass PR juice to them if the partner is not above you in quality.
