Link exchange

    Hi,all
    I have a pr 2 steel buildings related website,my website is on 5-6 page of google.after putting all seo efforts ,I think i should go for link exchange.Please suggest me link exchange is good or bad for seo.also suggest me that how can I exchange my link from others,and whose I should exchange my link.

    For Link excahenge u need to show ur site where u can put the others Links in ur site according to the respst of that party Theme

    I was told on another forum that some people have been penalized for a link exchange and theat it can really hurt you in the SERPS. Better to be on the safe side.

    Links exchanges are bad, do not do it. Go read through the google webmaster guidelines.

    Link Exchange is a very good way to boost rankings, however, as kev said, too much of reciprocal links is bad.
    You can go for a Threeway exchange instead.

    Link exchanges is good but to an extent. Why not focus on submitting your site to business directories in the category your website falls in. There's hundreds of high PR business directories to submit your site to.

    "Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging"

    emphasis here is on the word excessive. links (and reciprocal links) are what the internet has been all about from day one and is quite natural.
    cutts is talking about schemes which involve large number of links or recip. links specifically or "exclusively" for manipulating page rank. google has all sorts of incredible complex and refined methods to determine if your backlinking and recip links appear to be 'organic' or 'natural' etc, or are obvious attempts at manipulating page rank and serps etc etc.....

    if the website you are linking with has a natural affinity to your site and your site for that site, say another travel site or another site about red cars etc etc, then hell yeah go for it. as long as it's not 'excessive'

    Link exchange is the most effective but at the same time most dangerous seo technique. Make sure you link to the good sites and do not hit the Google bombing filter!
