What is the best method of drafting a link exchange email that has the least probability of being viewed as spam? What should the subject be? Should the copy be written a certain way? I’ve found that many of my link exchange requests are not even being opened. Thanks, Noah
Hi Noah, Right - The best way to find out is through trial and error unfortunately. The subject line i always use which seems to be quite successful is RE: Websitye Enquiry The owners will need to open this due to the fact that this enquiry could be anything related to them selling products or just a general enquiry. I also think it is better if you get to the point - there is nothing worse than long winded explanation of Page rank benefits blah balh blah (as if we dont know!) short and simple, and also lay out the code for them as it helps smooth the process. hope this helps!
Thanks for your help. Do you intentionally misspell the word website to get around spam filters? (websutye)
I think he made an honest spelling error. When people write posts they write very, very fast (usually) therfore spelling mistakes are bound to happen.
I find that it also helps to already have added their website to my site before writing the email. I know when people do that for me I am much more likely to link back to them.
just send it as if you're talking to one person, better know the name of the person, there are software out there to make it automate like link-vault.com, linkalizer.com try those. on your message you should mention (very important) how to link to your site, your site information such as url, title, description and what url you're planning to place their link.
I sent out more than 200 personal emails requesting for link - exchange and only got back 6 positive replies. lol. how wonderful is that!
"We have added (their site) to (your site)" This lets them know straight up that it is an exchange letter, if they don't open it knowing this up front, they're not gonna respond opening it out of *curiosity* with a sly headline anyway.
hi! is it ok to put their site address as your subject? just to make sure they will not delete your mail. ???
Not to increase the likelihood they will want to exchange, but as a courtesy you want to be up front about what it is. If I were open to exchange requests, I would definitely open it. That way you don't p.o. the webmaster with some spammy, slick, tricky subject line.
