Why even make a comment like that?

For your information (after reading your so-called blog on bid directories), yes some bid directory owners use unethical practices...but I do not... and I am sure the bid directory community has plenty of ethical webmasters, just as anywhere else.

Your blog was very dishearted and narrow-minded, in my opinion.

I love the bid directory concept. They are better than free directories, in my opinion. The money that comes through the directory a dollar at a time can be put to good use to promote the directory itself. How many PR0 free directories are there? Too many! And many of them do not care about content, most are not even human edited. Most of my sites are predicting organic PR4 at the next update.

I human edit all my listings, and all my bids are valid. When I start a directory I do add my own sites at a low bid amount and then leave them. I do not raise their bids.

I am responded to you like this, because this is not the first time you left some obsurd comment on one of my posts. I believe in freedom of speech. You had yours and this is mine!

Stay out of my posts please, unless you have something intelligent to add.

Oh wait now I get it...you have a PR0 web directory that charges $24.95 per year ...per listing. I admit it is a nice clean looking site, but are the benefits you are providing worth that much?

    Hmmmmm!

I see your sites listed on the front page of biddirectory1 at well above the minimum bid amount, and as mentioned, the problem is that bid directory owners such as yourself don't see this as unethical.

Not sure of what you call it, but it's artificially inflating the bid amounts - it forces someone to bid more than would have been necessary to list above your own sites, or even to be on the front page (at this time).

    To each his own.

I won't pollute this poor thread by responding to CReeD's blog, but I will say almost anything good can be abused.

I've seen oregonthunder2 investing hard work & time into these sites so I know my submissions were worth the $$$. :)

I always start my top site at $5, but the bid is never raised beyond that. So your so called "well above the minumum" is $4 and have always left room on the front page for minumum bids to appear.

I think the issue here was ethics. If I launch my site, with my own sites listed at no more than $5, and the person buys a link, that is not unethical, because that person is full-knowing of the situation. If I continued to bid up my links after the fact, that would make your case.

But sadly for you it does not. I am one of the most ethical people I know.

Of coarse, I know there are some who are not! I'm not blind to that fact.

I offer an olive branch, as it was probably a mistake on your part. Sometimes it is easy to jump to conclusions, and get on the wrong bandwagon.

    Peace!

It is unethical. It is artificially inflating the bids. And how would a person know that those are your own sites? There is no clear indication of such. So, no, a person may not be "full-knowing" of the situation.

Best of luck with your online projects.
