You have to be careful with directories because they can be looked at as link farms. You should be fine if you stay with established directories. I have found they dont carry that much weight compared to blogs and other better backlink techniques. Thanks John
don't bother too much when someone talking to build up link with directory... it's just a waste of everything
The problem with LinkMarket.com is the fact that they do single page interior linking. All the links that you'll find on the Client/Trader sites are all deep, meaning they are off the homepage and are typically put together using a back-end 'directory script.' You'll be able to trade with sites that place your link 3 (or more) steps within their page and this isn't worth it because the links won't carry much (if any) weight. For example, www.site.com/links/links1/basiclinkpage.html would be an example of where your link would probably end up, chances are it doesn't have any external links pointing at it (from other sites) and only very limited in-site links (being pages of the site itself that link to it). There will always be differing schools of thought when it comes to developing links, for example some folks don't like reciprocal linking, which is a 'you link to me, I'll link to you' sort of think. I would develop a different strategy than spending the time with LinkMarket.com, and even if you decide to go ahead, don't pay for their premium plan.
thanks a lot! so i guess the best link building strategy is by becoming guest blogger and put our link in the article we submit. right?
i would not recommend to get link from this methods and they will not considered effective and anyway google could penalize you as well.
