I just want to get this clear, just wonder is Link Development referring to link exchange? Any comments? Please advise. Thanks
There is an area at the bottom of the forum specifically for link exchanges. The link development is for helping others build links on their sites that don't cost money or exchanging something. IE commenting, press releases ect.
there are many methods of link development of link building. link exchange is just one of them. this is a very old method and i would suggest you to stay away from it if possible. it takes a lot of time to do link exchanges only to see your links being removed by your link partners after some time. or to see that the site you exchanged links with is no longer running. besides, google discounts links gained form link exchanges. there are plenty of one way link building methods and you should be focusing on those. here is an article i posted about some free link building methods.

link exchange is an old term of link development, it will profitable if u will get HIGH PR backlinks but infact its hard no one will exchange backlink with low pr website. LE takes lot of time and sometimes your links being removed after some time. One way links are good and easy to get, ezine submission and social bookmarking, web 2.0 properties are one of them.
As indicated earlier, link exchange is one of the methods of link development, however it certainly is not the best. If link exchange is used extensively it might resemble in its nature of links that of link farms and accordingly will cause search engines to penalize your website. It has other disadvantages, such as possibly distracting your customers away from your website... I recommend other link development strategies such participating in forums, blogs, writing articles, directory submissions..
