Link Development through directory submission

Dear all,
Directory submission is an effective way to increase links.

I am in field of SEO for last 5 years.As you all know that submitting website to good and relevant directories increases page rank.

Directory Submission is good for taking links..as the same time is fast and easy process also

 

mmmm, I'm not sure directory submissions are a valid way of promoting websites. Anyone have any performance comparisons to share?

In my experience I find site submissions worth less, I tried it on 2 sites, one site just article submission and one just site subs, in first update first site (articles) got PR2, site sub PR0, first site was on top of page 2 for kw, second site was midway on 4th page. Targeting same keywords, different domains , different content different IPS.

Are there any good FREE directory submission sites? I tried to google them yesterday and I only found ONE that looked more or less interesting. If know any good ones, please, place links to them. Thanks!
