Hi All Just though I would share with you my SEO link building efforts so far... Desired keywords: used peugeot, used alfa romeo, used citroen, used cars Comments, views etc would be hugely appreciated. This is what I have been doing since early Jan this year (circa 7 weeks) 1. Created around 15 unique articles 500+ words with keyword density around 5%. I have submitted these to around 50 article sites (15 x 50 = 750 submissions). Where possible I have hyperlinked keywords in article to our website. 2. Onpage SEO; changing title tags, keywords on homepage etc 3. Blog commenting - around 20 comments a day over 50 days = 1,000 comments 4. Made a Squiddo account, Facebook, Twitter 5. Submitted to around 100 directories 6. Submitted to lots of social bookmarking sites 7. Created a link wheel where I am linking articles to each other, linking to Squiddo, then using Digg.com and reddit.com to release the articles for people to read them. How does this sound? Is what I am doing ok, or too agressive (although I fail to see how it could be too aggressive as I am producing very interesting, factual articles and only commenting on blogs relevant to cars etc)
rankngs on "used peugeot" etc have not really changes...maybe up a few lines but thats it... I know it takes 3 - 6 months to make a difference...Just wondering if there were any experts who could say yes this is fine, or how about doing this or that etc....
Do your links contain anchor text that points to key words in your title tag? We start with the free directory lists. After six weeks or so we start deep linking to internal pages and fine tuning the results we get with permanent targeted links from the paid directories we use. We only start networking once the site has started responding and is ready for traffic. You should see movement within three weeks of seeing your link published.
Do your links contain anchor text that points to key words in your title tag? Yes - used peugeot for example is in homepage title tag, and title tag of most articles and as hyperlinked text within the article After six weeks or so we start deep linking to internal pages and fine tuning the results we get with permanent targeted links from the paid directories we use With this deep linking, what internal pages? I am only linking to homepage, as thats what we want to optimise - what is the benefit of having articles linking to internal pages within a website? Thanks
We place our secondary key words on internal pages and then link in. There are all sorts of theories as to why deep links are important but we just use it to increase our coverage and give the site body. If you don't start seeing results soon I would start worrying. You are already overdue and whilst end game is always a long way off you should be seeing results for the effort made so far.
1. Some article directories are good for traffic, like the more popular one, some are good for backlinks. After finished with unique article for the good one, spin it (manual is preferred), use something like MAS, AMR, and blast it to hundreds more article directories, once approved index the links. 2. If you dont create your own theme (such as WP) make sure your H1, H2 and H3 are proper, ex, H1 should only be the keywords, H2 should be each of the post title and H3 goes for the rest like categories, most popular post etc. 3. Blog commenting is fine, need more, dont forget to index the backlink 4. Status update is good, make tens of profiles, dont go overboard, dont mater if only have few followers or friends, what matter is it gets updated by different profiles i.e different person. 5. Meeh, the free one are crap, the good one are expensive. 6. This is good, keep doing it, automate where possible using twiterfeed, ping.fm, onlywire etc 7. Make web 2.0 like wordpress, hubpage, squido etc, dont put any links yet to avoid deletion, after couple of post drop links to your money site here and there, buy some xrumer or scrapebox blast and blast those properties. again, dont forget to index the links, from experience poor linkwheel is dangerous, and people get lost easily, if you insist you can do layered properties YMMV, DGFBID
when you say place secondary keywords on internal pages and link in......do you mean creating internal landing pages on your website, and directing your secondary keywords to these newly made internal pages i.e. Home > Used Cars > Used Peugeots Thanks
