Link Development - ROS vs. Slow and Deep :)

Hi, I have about a dozen sites, some with a handful of pages, some 1000+ page forums. PR runs from 2 to 5. I'm trying to use these sites to get rankings for some new sites I'm launching.

Would creating new deep links slowly, day by day be more effective than simply jamming in run-of-site links?

It seems that would be the case but I was wondering what you might have to say about that.

    Thanks!

New deep links acquired slowly look more natural to search engines.

It's a link to a page deep in your site, instead of just to the homepage.
