I recently released an online pet shop and would like your suggestions on where I could best gather quality theme related links and also what sites you would recommend for free article submission? Any help appreciated!

    Nice Site.

You must become a member of B2B Portals like Alibaba and Tradkey for getting clients.

Free Article Submission Sites which I recommend are

    Sooper Articles
    Go Articles
    Article snare
    Article Pool

For theme related links Seo forums and Facebook is the best place to get it

Thanks eric_wahlberg I custom designed it and built using the joomla framework.

I will look into setting up some articles and submitting to the article sites you proposed, haven't done this in the past but do you get good results such as keyword rank and traffic from article submission? The site is for consumers atm but if looking to expand to wholesale sector then maybe look at B2B Portals like Alibaba and Tradkey.

Start making web 2.0 properties, such as squidoo, create some content, then link to your site. Always helps haha.

you can search google to find relevant forums where you can post on. i would not focus too much on finding relevant sites to exchange links with as it takes up so much time to do that which most of them time don't end up producing the right value of time. since therre are so many ways to build free one way backlinks, no need to find sites to exchange links with.

if you are concerned about relevant backlinks, then write keyword rich articles and submit them to article directories under proper categories and you will get relevant backlinks. when submitting to article directories, use a good miz of directories with high PR established directories as well as new unknown article directories for beter value as lot of known "quality" article directories got hit by latest google panda update. ezine articles that was known to be the best article directory lost 86% of its traffic after the panda update so best practice would be to use mixed directories to better result
