    Hi, :D
I have a domain that is 2 years old and i have a website on it for like 6 months ago but its just been sitting there and i didnt do anything to it. Now i want to use that domain however i have to change everything (Site,Content) to fit my needs. I am planning on doing high advertising and link building. Site is already a PR4. I am planning to buy some links from PR9 PR8 and PR7 sites.
Will it be ok to start with PR9 link or should i start with smaller PRs like 2,3. Site already have few backlinks and have PR4 ?
How much PR do you think 2 PR8 and couple of PR7 can pass to you. ?
Considering that my site is not brand new is it ok to do a heavy link building?

Thanks for your help in advance :D

In any event you should start out slow.

Heavy advertising is okay, as long as it's only visitors and not heavy PR building to start with. If you have a good site/product organic links will start to come in from those visitors, which google likes as you know.

When building PR in general, be sure to have all sorts of weighted sites linking you. 1 or 2 high pr sites to go with a lot of pr6's, 5's and downwards. But just go slow - what's your hurry anyway?

Thanks, So you are suggesting that i should first get some 2,3,4,5 rather then starting out with PR9. I am planning to get few high PR links along with some 3,4,5 my concern here is should i wait some time after getting lower PRs and then get high PRs or i can start both together i.e get few high ones and few low ones. Hurry here is that i am getting some good deal on PR9 PR8 .gov and .edu links which are worth a lot as you know.

Thanks for your time again :)

Good job getting links on pr9 and 8 gov and edu sites, that's quite an accomplishment :)

Back to the topic: I don't think anyone can tell THE way to do it, but my thinking is like "better safe than sorry". If you havn't done anything with the domain/site for 2 years and suddenly start getting various extremely high pr links, google will know something's up. Depending on the topic of your site, i'd start out slow(er), meaning get some pr6 links at the most in the begining (and yes, pr2's, 3's and 4's are okay as well).

In a month, two or three get a pr8 link and then in a month again do the pr9. Another thing to take into account when dealing with backlinks from top pr sites likes that, is to make sure it somehow fall into the category of your own site. This is more important with higher PR sites than lower..

As I've said before, i'm not offering THE solution. There are many ways of doing it, I'm just sharing my own and friends experiences :)

As for relevancy; Not THAT big a deal for low PR sites (because people with personal blogs etc will link just about anything, and the engines knows this). But as sites goes up in PR (becomes more weighted and gains more authority) they will in most cases only link sites that relates to themself, meaning if you get links on very high pr sites (like the 8's and 9's you mentioned) and they don't relate at all, google will most likely figure out that it is paid links.

Even with google knowing you paid (of course they will never know it, but only have a good hunch) you might still be ok. Depends on how google will look at it, but again - better safe than sorry right?

Well tough to say really. I usually go by; some links are better than none, but if they end up getting you blacklisted I think it's safe to say they didn't help :)

Oh, and as for .edu and .gov domains/sites, google treats them differently. So take my advice with a grain of salt, as I can only comment for .com's (and all the regular TLD's). Edu and gov are both areas i'm not very familiar with, i just know google have a lot more "faith" in them
