I have a question about link dev in forum signatures. Say you join several forums, how many posts should you place to get some of the "PR juice" ? Does the # of post matter? Which # is a fair amount? Thanks
it depends i think on the number of indexed pages with your links there. even if you have 10,000 posts but the pages were your posts are located are not indexed, it doesn't help
Certain threads at certain forums become very popular. Since they are linked to from many places, they acquire some PR- put your posts in there There is nothing like x amount of posts gets you x amount of juice for your sites. For instance, if all my posts here were in the underground forum, I wouldn't have any backlinks for my sites through DP. ( yes, my profile getting indexed would be a backlink though)
And more, it is not so strong, because it is on same server (we all know that diversify of ip/servers are better for this purpose). Personally - I do not belive so much in 'sitewide' power. Ofcourse, that's better than signle page link but not so much force as it seems. That's my opinion.
I don't know if posting to forums can increase your PR, but it can be a source of traffic. I think if you have quality backlinks and has text content in your site it can help you increase PR. But I would suggest that concentrate on getting high traffic than getting high PR.
i dont think that forums signature link will help you to get higher page rank . i think it will bring search engine spiders to your site . i'm using my signature for this. i dont expect pr from my signature links
Number of posts doesn't matters. But to get a significant increase in number of backlinks more posts can be useful. One more point is that when you have thousands of posts on the forum then your signature can bring in much more traffic from that signature links.
