Since some time I get blank pages when checking for backlinks in msn with link:url command. What's wrong? It used to work fine.

    Same here.
I think I read somewhere about this command being discontinued from MSN live search tools.

I have noticed this as well. Wonder why would they discontinue it...

I have an automated checker that has been giving me blank results for over 2 weeks now...guess this is the reason. Are they replacing it at all?

Same here. I think they should have at least placed an error message. All I get is a blank page.

link, linkdomain, etc. commands are disabled for webmasters, but are not dead.
Some used to check it all with HotBot. But it's not working anymore.
Still there's a chance to count and see backlinks from MSN.
I'm not sure how many tools are still able to support it.
But I'm sure of my own:

    It was disabled awhile back:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/livesearch/archive/2007/03/28/we-are-flattered-but.aspx

For those of you who use some of the advanced query syntax in our search engine such as link:, linkdomain: and inurl:, you may have noticed that this functionality has been recently turned off. We have been seeing broad use of these features by legitimate users but unfortunately also what appears to be mass automated usage for data mining. So for now, we have made the tough call to block all queries with these operators.

Some months ago I heared that microsoft is starting new data centers for msn, I think that msn is now trying to get the new servers up. That may be the reason.

Yes its all messed up with MS. I have to put a little note about this on siteamount because the inurl: function also does not work.

Just reading and don't understand you....
    Didn't you read my post?
Command is disabled but it doesn't mean backlinks dissappear from MSN and it's impossible to see it for any domain. This you can see with my tool mentioned above.
Also try this link which shows backlinks for my directory in MSN (SearchLive):
LinkForever's backlinks in MSN (command 'link:')
    See results?

this question is asked over and over again. Obviously, people are too lazy to read other peoples posts and just ask the same question again and again and again.........
