I'm a fairily new member on DP. In about a month, I've already gained 23 positive feedback ratings. (How does one earn reputation points?) I have traded, sold, and bought links. In your opinion, when a link sale takes place, who should leave iTrader feedback first--the buyer or the seller? I believe that the seller should always leave iTrader first because as soon as the buyer submits payment, he or she has completed his/her end of the transaction. That deserves immediate recognition and feedback from the seller. The seller should not "hold out" in posting feedback because he/she wants to "take revenge" in the event that the buyer ends up posting negative feedback. OK, let's vote!
I believe the buyer should - always. The seller must first find out if the buyer is satisfied, if they are - they leave itrader. iv voted.
There is no first/second.. itrader is needed by every member of this forum to give him more "reputable" status. So if you are more eager to get itrader, then give the seller/buyer first..
The problem arises only if you give iTrader for getting back a positive one. Just forget about what the other person gives and give the iTrader depending on what you think about the transaction.
Exactly! As soon as the buyer pays, the seller should leave positive feedback. The buyer completed his/her end of the deal. There is absolutely nothing else for the buyer to do. By paying, the buyer has indicated that he/she TRUSTS the seller and the seller's ad. The buyer's part of the transation is 100% complete. There is no legit reason for the seller to delay. The only reason a seller has to delay leaving feedback is to be able to take revenge if the buyer ends up leaving a negative.
I was the seller in my case, and I was gave it first, but I gave it due to me screwing up some information which made the buyer work harder (by canceling payment, and resending it). I think the happiest of those involved should be the ones to give it first
IMO, seller should leave feedback first. Actually he should leave feedback as soon as he receives payment
It's up to you if you want to take the initiative and give a feedback first or request the one you dealt with to give you a feedback first and tell him that you'll reciprocate it afterwards. --Joe
I think the buy should gave itrader right after the so call service, products are attained, and with complete satisfaction....
Here's the deal: I saw a directory owner's DigitalPoint ad. I trusted him and paid in advance. My end of the transaction was 100% complete. The guy posted my link and then sends me a PM asking for me to give him positive feedback FIRST. Why didn't he just post feedback for me instead of sending a PM asking for me to do it first? To me, that's shady and unethical. I politely told him that he should do it first because I already took the FIRST STEP in paying him. He responded, and I quote, "Well, I guess neither of us will get feedback then."
Why? What does the seller have to be afraid of? The buyer completed his end of the deal, and deserves immediate recognition and APPRECIATION from the seller via iTrader. When you go into a store and buy something, doesn't the cashier or store owner immediately say, "Thank you"? I've never had a cashier say to me, "Now that you've paid, I demand that you go tell 15 friends about your super-duper purchase here, and THEN I will thank you for patronizing our store." Seems a little backwards to me.
Well, it really does not matter who leaves it first. The first one who is satisfied with the sale. I remember leaving itrader when I made some purchases and never got anything back That is even if I leave a good review in the post and a good feedback in the itrader I think maybe the best option is not to give itrader right away especially for people you never deal with before. If you are a seller, it is possible that the buyer pays you and you deliver the site then he does a chargeback later. Or the other way where you buy a seller then the buyer does not deliver. I guess a cooling period of at least a few days would be nice when the dust have settled then the itrader feedback would mean something. That's just my thoughts. iTrader feedbacks are not an obligation and in the end is not compulsory like Reps.
