    How effective is document sharing in link building process. Is it something which is equally important or should we only do it in terms of a thumb rule? I would appreciate it if someone can please shed some light on this.

    Document sharing is like docstoc, slideshare, scribe, etc ...
    They used to be very effective, but not now anymore.

    You can give up basically. Now Google +1 is king.
