Would it be safe to assume that if someone was to start a link building campaign that they shouldnt stick to one form of link building (ie just blog comments) and more of a mixture of others?
I would say diversifying is the best tactic, and building your backlinks slow at first, so they look more natural.
You definitely want to build backlinks in anyway possible, but make sure its always "white hat" and not "black hat" tactics. Black hat will get you sooner or later. Out of all the several backlink building strategies I have done over the years, I find that Article Marketing and Press Releases are by far the best for me.. My be different for others, but they work great for me. Social Bookmarking is another good one too. Let me know if you need some help, I would be more than happy to.
It is a good idea to always mix up your link building techniques and not stick to just one. I usually stick to blogs, forums and posting articles. Try not to get carried away to where it looks un-natural to search engines. If just beginning, start small then gradually increase the amount of links you put out there.
