To tell you the truth aspects101, I have done EXACTLY the same with 2 other sites will lower competition and the results are in the first month it went onto first page of Google and has only moved UP to top spot.
Great news... but I think that Google will give you a little gift for your new site by bumping you to the top..... I would STAY ACTIVE building links, because in 2 months you might SLIP TO THE 8TH PAGE ... So definitely keep building links and dont stop there, which Im sure youre going to do anyway -- Good luck!!!! - FBos
Good job! Personally I find that the quantity of competitors don't matter at all, it's the quality that counts. Here's how I normally do it: 1. Create a keyword list with keywords that have decent search volume and CPC 2. Find out which will be my main keywords I'll be doing SEO on by googling them to find out how strong my top 10 competitors are. That includes the layout of their websites, the content, and most importantly, the number of links and what anchor text they use. Some keywords have 1,000,000 competitors but those on the first page only have less than 100 backlinks. It really depends on the quality not the quantity. Just my 2 cents worth.
I agree with the quality over quantity link building method. I think a lot of people waste a lot of time creating useless links.
Fbos, can you tell me where I say I will NOT build anymore links? Cause I dont recall saying that...I know from vast experience having 5 sites rank for their keywords at #1. I was just trying to newbies a helpng hand on how to get their site listed on G, then the REAL work begins.
I dont use Cost Per Click it only benfits Google by increasing their profit, I believe in ORGANIC rankings. And as for your second point I put the MAIN keyword I target in the domain name ALWAYS! Then by going and getting RELEVANT backlinks from other relevant sites is key to building quality backlinks.
Yes, this is good result, this what you described is probably the safest and most efficient way of gaining links for new domains. Can you tell me if that 400,000 was in quotation ?
It has now been the 4th week and the site is climbing to the #1 spots for all keywords, so it does look as though the tactics work.
