Been learning link wheel now. Still i got a lot of questions inside my nutshell. How effective link wheel is? Currently I'm using 5 sites, Squidoo, livejournal, blogger, tumblr, wordpress...Is this enough?
Link wheels refer to the practice of linking external social web 2.0 sites (also called parasite sites) together in to a linked wheel to support your ‘hub’site. This hub and spoke marketing is not new – Howie Schwartz, one of the pioneers of link wheel development has used link wheels as a tried and tested method for increasing search engine exposure. With a link wheel, you will gain authority from within the major search engines. Chances are you will gain a significant PR boost, traffic and SERP (Search Engine Result Page) ranking by using a link wheel as part of a balanced link building campaign.
Add some articles websites also. It will bring traffic for sure, some what page rank also. Make sure your content is unique in each website.
Link Wheels work, but look how long it takes to effectively build up other websites, then interlink them, vs just finding established websites and piggybacking on those, with forum posts, blog comments, and article submissions. Granted you can have a network of your own blogs but the PR is going to be limited, but every little bit helps.
Posters from other forums have strongly advised against creating "perfect" linkwheels in which the sites link to each other in an exact circle.
Link wheels can be a pretty great idea for increasing backlinks, improving keyword rankings, and generating traffic. Learn how to build a link wheel.
link building is the most effective way if you coud do it without letting google trace. it has much advantage.
you also need to build a link wheel to the link wheel which takes lots of time. but if you dont have too much competition than 5-6 platform is enough
I'm testing out a link wheel for the first time. I have a site I created back in the winter and then sort of forgot about. It's got about 20 pages of unique content, but it's just sitting there, as I abandoned it before I started building links to it. I've created an open wheel using 7 platforms, and on top of that submitted articles to a few of the top directories. We'll see what happens!
Thanks for the article. So, with a link wheel. Do you only link to the next spoke and the main hub site?
