    Many people are just typing crap above.

    You need to know, that the fact haven changes.
    That is, get HIGH quality link to your site .
    Which mean not only in HIGH PR, but also HIGH DA / PA / MozRank as well.

    Yes when the people talking about website, most of the people consider its Page rank, page rank is not at all a matter for submitting, we must check PA, DA for quality backlinks.

    Everyone clearly mentioned all the SEO off-page techniques all are old and running, nothing much special for 2014, Always focus on content and promote on social media.

    If you use EMDs, keep away from using exact match keyword.
    Instead pepper it up with additional word in between, front or back.

    Also be careful not to repeat the keyword in your URL e.g "bottledwater.com/perrierbottledwater" shoud be "bottledwater.com/perrier"

    If you want that your site should rank higher in SERP, then the most effective thing is that provide original and informative content to your reader. Make broadbase backlinks and these link should be from niche and high pr sites.
