I am doing SEO of one website. Its 1 month old website launch at end of December. I have done 400 directory submission, some social bookmarking and article submission. Website has blog in subfolder. But I am not getting result as I am expected. I also participate in banner exchange program (banner is on blog home page). I am thinking that my website still in sandbox effect. The yahoo site explorer is showing only 10-15 directories only and google backlink is 5. I stop with directory submission. Give me some advice and second thing i want to knw for new website how many link building is good. As i know gaining tooo many links in a month can ban me from google or other search engine. Will wait for your reply.

Wow! Thank you for the list of web directories, I need them to build links on my business site.

If I already established my links, is it ok to place them all in the site even if my links are increasing in number from time to time or is there a limit to the number of links in a site? Like choosing only the best and relevant links up to 50 links maximum or just keep on adding links until I get higher rankings?
