Using automated link swap networks could get your site penalized by Google and Yahoo. Modern search engines are smart and can easily detect link swap footprints those networks leave behind.

Find quality sites and email them, and tell them you put a link to them, and complement them on great content. You'd be surprised how many of those will be happy to link back to you (if your site provides good content), without you even asking. Don't emphasize PR, emphasize relevancy, and visitor value.

Considered by whom? By you? Oh please. For starters, Matt Cutts explicitly mentioned EDU or GOV sites are NOT treated specially. And I'm yet to see anyone posting real figures that prove Cutts wrong.

It's the "weight" and "age" of the site that counts, not the "domain extension". Google Cutts' blog for this. An EDU site may've been around longer, so its age factor will benefit you if you get a link from them. However, if you get a link from a student's "hello world!" EDU page with no real value whatsoever, this link will be useless.

Bottom line: It boils down to content, visitor value, age, and authority. Just like in real life.

Hold on, you explain a ton of techniques and on everyone you say that you are using that technique, but what kind of result should we expect from using those techniques ? do you have quantity, stats or something?
