Just read an interesting post on link building methods and risks. It's a summary of a presentation by Jim Boykin at SES London. To summarise the post: If you're targetting short-tail competitive keywords, you'll need to buy links if you want to rank #1 Buying links is worthwhile, but carries a small risk. The more links you buy the greater the risk. This applies to blog reviews, which provide an initial boost in rankings until the post drops off the homepage (at which point your rankings fall back). Trust is very important (I'm assuming here they mean lot more important than Pagerank), so much so that search engines no longer reduce the value of the link by the number of links on the page. Basically, then, the key to ranking well for competitive terms is to buy links in such a way that you don't trip any link buying filters. If you don't have the resources to buy links then you should target less competitive, long tail keywords instead. Any comments?
Agree to a certain extent.. but I'd say creating linkwheels is better than buying; coz you can save a lotta monies and propel your sites up.. just imagine how powerful a quality Hubpages.com link is.. I must say, such an amusing article. Thanks for sharing simpseo!
Buying links is not a good idea! Better to buy PPC for those targeted keywords and build links the White Hat way!
To begin with, use seomoz's linkscape or opensiteexplorer to find out what valuable links your competition has. Then go after those sites. This will get you 75% of the way there with mid-tail.
If you go for a competitive niche or keywords, Buying links will boost your ranking. But dont' buy lot of links all in a sudden.
buy link its not problem but some time if you buy PR5 backlink but after 3 ro 4month that site PR will down like 3 that means you pay price on 5PR not 3PR bcz on deal time PR is 5
