I see a lot of posts in here about link building and people asking about it. The only link building you should focus on right now is just social media. And you shouldnt even focus on the link building part of it. Just engage your customers on the social media platforms and you will increase your results. Link building is an old practice and is not practical anymore. If google sees that you have links in directories they do not count that anymore because they know it is bogus links. The best thing to do now is focus on original fresh content. If you do that you will move up in the searches. Google wants to see fresh original content now.
I agree that social media and content is a great way to build an online profile but guest blogging, social sharing etc. is effectively link building is it not? a way to naturally get quality links. Link juice is and always will be essential but Google will now simply be focusing on the quality of such
d do you have a case study to support your claim that link building is obsolete and it only takes social media to rank a site? social media does play a vital role now but you still need link building. try to rank a moderately competitive site just using social media and then post your observation.
First of all you know that SEO is not about just doing one thing. It is about doing many different things. You cant just focus on link building or social media or content. My point was people were talking about it like it was the end all be all for SEO. I wouldnt however recommend doing link building in directories like people used to do. People were talking about that and thats why I posted.
Organic search is still controlled in mass, by external link profiles. Content is becoming ever more important, but suggesting link building is an old practice is way of the mark- without links you could have the best content in the world but you won't be ranking unless you're facing literally zero competition.
