Some things you should do are
-Article Marketing
-Blog Commenting. Check this thread on dp which has a guide to getting relevant high pr backlinks by blog commenting
-Forum Posting with links in sig. Here is a list of dofollow forums.
-Building .edu, .gov links. Check this thread here on dp which has a guide to building .edu backlinks

 

The easiest way to built some back links is to comment on relative blogs and forum. you could put your url on your your signature on a forum. When in blogs just put then address of your site in your comment.

 

It is 2009, every thing is hard, but we have to work hard every day.

Ya one huge thing you are missing is placing the link of your website into the forum signiture. Now to do this do not use html but I can't remember if it is vb or bb any way how you do it is use []<<and within these type url without any "" and then type your domain name then a /url in they same type of brackets. Sorry it is really hard to explain, but it will look like this [] your domain [] in the first [] place url and in the second [] place /url and remember no "". Anyway if you do this every time you post in a forum you will not only get a backlink, but usually a good amount of traffic. Hope this helped.

Some of those links building methods will only go so far with your sites. Articles, directories, forum posting, and blog commenting will help your site but these methods alone will not put you on page one of google for competetive keywords.

 

link exchanging is tough. I'd try commenting on dofollow blogs. Its quick and easy.

 

link building is not really hard, its just extremely time consuming. if you have the time and focus, you can build a lot of links with some being very quality ones.

Yeah, i see, i often email the webmaster and chat with them about the benefit of link exchange, but except the auto linke director, no webmater respone my request, but i do it every day!

do ONLY directory submission and you will get PR3 in 3 months,

 

I see, but there are few topic related open directory to submit my site, do you think it works if i submit to the different top open directory?

Link building is tough at times. I am currently helping to beta test a system however, that could change the whole face of backlinking. So much in fact, that I have stopped all my own link building until its launched.
