Link Building interval

I've often heard that when doing Link Building it's a good idea to only build two or so links a day. I've also heard that it doesn't matter how many links you build per day. I'm just trying to get clarification on what is the right strategy.

There is no correct link building interval. You just want your link building to look natural. If you build links too consistently, it looks unnatural. If you build links in big spurts followed by no links for a while, it looks unnatural too. Build however many links you can each day and you should have nothing to worry about. Do make sure that you vary your link anchor text though. It may also help to build links to more than 1 page on your website. It is tough to get penalized for offpage factors. Just make sure you don't do anything spammy.

My two cents- depending on how competitive your market is two links a day will make honorable webmaster a very poor man indeed. I agree completely that do all you can to look natural in building your links but that said that is pretty difficult. If you are only adding one or two per day that would be rather easy but due to how directories/ blogs / other link sites add their links back to you it may not end up that way anyway. Be consistent, make linking a daily/ 5 times weekly or every 2 or 3 day habit- yes habit and you should have no worries. Also, remember to wear your helmet at all times. I have always wanted to say that- ???

If you've got a blog, I recommend building links around blog post dates also because google see this as natural activity.

Hi, you don't need to worry about the interval. simply focus on building backlinks to your website and it will pay off. worrying about interval will waster your time and effort. decide on the number of backlinks that you want a day, a week or a month and stick to it. Good luck!

Well I was concerned with my strategy on whether or not I was building links to fast, because whenever I search for my site sometimes I'm on different pages, and I was just wondering if that was Google's way of punishing me for linking to fast.

And by the way does anyone know why your page rank fluctuates from day to day?

Do you mean your position in the SERPs? I thought PR only updated around once a month - is that not the case?

You should have a plan to build links, but should not build hundreds of links everyday. how many links to build, many people will say many things, but you should do it every day some links.

I'm doing the same thing by linking to my internal pages. One site I used to have, I linked to nothing but internal pages - but that was the exception and not the rule.

One or two is not enough now if you start hitting the thousands google will more than likely think you are using automated methods to get links and will ban you from the index. So my recommendation is to keep it under a thousand or so daily, I have stuck to this and still remain on the first page of google SERPs for make money free having 130 million competitors. No matter what people say the way I got to the top was with good backlinks.

One or two may not be enough, like the others have already said there is no interval. Just focus on building links.

It's best to focus on changing that interval regularly. You can build 20 a day or 200 a day but if you build the same amount of links every day it is going to raise some red flags. The link building system I use humanizes how links are built making it appear as natural as possible.

As again, i will say that they will not be any clear cut answer to this question.

People have different views on it. As for me i just crate links when i can and how many i can for that day.

    It looks more natural.

Than having a fixed number that you build on daily basis.

I dont think you can win through link building strategies. You need a good idea, and you need to create powerful content or a website that is actually useful. The links will build naturally. Link building is just there to let people know your site is in existence, but once you have a fair 150 uniques per day, if your site is truly magnificent, it can spiral to 100,000+ uniques a day. But it has to be professional and amazing.

Take for example InfernoDevelopment.com, although not everything about it is perfect, and it's not that great of a layout. The content is very valuable. Therefore, every day 1000+ unique visitors come by and read the topic, and a good %, keep returning and coming back for more and people have already started joining the forums, even though it's not even a year old. Once I help them redevelop the site, and make it more user friendly, it will get 10 times as many. And what was the link building strategy for them? I asked the owner, and they told me, they did nothing, other than have friends like me with signature links.

There was no, link building intervals or anything like that. Most of the hits are from google. Yahoo doesnt even care yet.

dont get so deep down as to how many links you need to build each day or so. just come up with a good link building plan for the next 3 months and the use a calander (google calander works for me) to mark the dates for each link building activity. once you get the calander setup, rest is just keep doing it. if you keep a weekly goal, thats good enough as managing a daily link building plan can be hard

Yes, sultan is right. I don't think anyone should care about intervals so much. Just keep getting links if you can. Natural links are best.

If you build the links manually, I will not be worry too much about interval, amount, etc. Google will also need times to notice the links anyway.
