Does the volume of forum posting make a lot of difference...? Does it help my SEO to have 50 posts on a forum more than if I had 10? I haven't been posting so much to get traffic from people clicking my signature link, but more so for the value of generating the backlinks... Am I on the right track here?
Forum links are not really great for link building and PR juice. You should be able to get good traffic if you keep surrounding text on your links relevant and highlight the advantages visitors can have if they visit the site.
Forum signature can be a great way to drive traffic to your sites. but unfortunatly SE's dont really care to much about forum links. so you wont be seeing alot of new SE traffic by building forum links. however follow the tips that jitendraag gave and you can expect good traffic from your forum posts. and quality of the posts is more important then the quantity.
you could gave some boost to yahoo. theres a lot of threads with 309840934 do follow forums list. pick 10-20, get 100 posts on each forum, and see the results.
it is hard to say , but generally the number of posts and its reputation gonna have an effect on people's feelings abt the poster of course , the more the better
To me, keeping up with huge amount of posts and contents each day would be a total waste of my time, especially if it doesn’t benefit me in any way towards my busines somehow that’s what I used to think.
If you want to waste your time chasing after forum links, go right ahead. Before SitePoint became a "no-show" forum (I love that term), I had over 15,000 posts to my credit. Guess what? Not a single one of them helped me.
The value of a forum is in building relationships and credibility for yourself - not to promote. Leave that to a signature file with some reason for people to click through. Your posts should be as informative and helpful as possible. Ask and answer questions in detail. Be polite. Be witty, if possible.. But the most important thing is to build up trust; then, if people are interested they'll click your signature link. Now in terms of SEO, you're probably right that Google and others disregard signature links simply because there's so much spam and no-value. But let's say this thread becomes a hot topic with several hundred posts and becomes #1 at Google for this term 'Link Building in Forum Signatures' and one of us writes a simply mind-blowing post which sees a click-through rate of 90% - then SURELY, Google would take note. I'm not saying we should all post with the off-chance that we will all hit gold, but we should post with an aim to add value to the forum, build trust and credibility with other members, and not promote.
Plus, the moderators will hate on you and so will all the other commenters. I've tried several times to pull this off with forum links to no avail. The best way to use forums is to follow a story close to something you have and offer advice by going to your link.
If you use signature links to help promote your sites on non-SEO sites you can get some good traffic. Lets say you have a gardening site and you post some useful content on some gardening forums, you'll see some daily visits from VERY targeted traffic.
I have good content in my site and now tried so many back link factors to link back to my site if you people have any detailed info about back links it would be thankful..
i use signature and i dont care whatever people say because i believe something is better than nothing and you are always going to get a link juice even a little and who knows that little may help you to get on the first page. so try everything which is possible for you.
