Link building ideas for Adult themes

    Hi guys,

    A close friend of mine has set up a site selling sex toys, condoms etc (very similar to Ann Summers) and he has asked me to come up with some link building ideas.

    This will be the first time I have worked with an 'adult themed' website so I thought I would ask here to see if there is anything I need to be looking out for.

    The usual techniques I go for are;

    Directory Submissions
    Social Bookmarking
    Article Marketing (with rewrites to improve link yield)
    Forum/Blog Posting

    Alongside solid on-page optimisation.

    Due to the competitiveness of the niche we will need to be more aggressive in terms of SEO techniques but I am not willing to engage in any black hat practices to manipulate the rankings faster.

    Also - He will need to hire someone to write articles, blog post etc - Any ideas where I should be looking for these and how much I can expect to pay for someone who is from the US/UK?

    Tagging web pages on sites like Digg, Reddit, Plaxo etc :)

    I think 3 way link exchange will be useful to your site but you have to create a blog or site with PR to have a good link.

    It's depend on your budget.. if you've more budget that you can buy link on those high PR sites/blogs. But I'm not sure whether they accept any adult link unless the niche is same.

    problem with adult sites is that, there are not nearly enough quality sites where you can get links form compared to mainstream sites. there are some adult directories that are free where you can submit your site. some of the adult directories also accept articles so you can submit articles to those directories as well. not sure how many adult article directories are out there but some mainstream article sites have adult category where you can submit. only a few adult social bookmarking sites are out there and i had hard time putting together a list of 50. forum posting with signatures dont give you good backlinks so i dont suggest spending time on it.

    i suggest you do as much directory and article submission you can as they will be your vital source of backlinks.
