Link building help please???

    Hey Everyone,

I'm fairly new to building links to our site, but I have some questions. Our on site SEO is very good, but our only lacking element is link building, so I figured you all might be able to help me out some here.

    1. I see people saying they are building 10 links a day. How the heck is that even possible????
    2. On our site, we are developing better content in hopes that users will not only find it useful but may link to it. We use this for our on site SEO.
    3. What are the best places to submit articles to to help link building?
    4. Do press releases help with link building? What are the press release sites that you use that are free/low cost?
    5. We are a web design company so we naturally build links through our clients, but i have one client that has 13k pages. does having our link on each page of all of that bad? Or is it okay? it doesn't seem to affect our ranking.
    6. What do you recommend for analyzing our competitors. I have used open site explorer, but I want something I can save or print so I can check off any sites they have links on that we can also get links on.
    7. Should we list our RSS feed on our blog in hopes that users will try to aggregate our feed?
    8. Are there sites we can submit our RSS feed to to help build links? Does this method help?
    9. How else can I build links to our site?
I want to thank you all in advance for any suggestions.

    >>> There are various ways of building links: article directories, forum/blog commenting, guest posting, etc. So building about 10 links a day is possible.

    >>> There's eZineArticles and a few other article directories besides. I suggest you go over the thread here. Several members have already posted a list of article directories to submit to.

    >>> Press releases help build links, but this does not apply to all niches. You mentioned your site is in web design and you can publish press releases to sites like http://digitalmediaonlineinc.com/ and http://www.onlineprnews.com/. They're free sites, but you would need to register an account.

    >>> It wouldn't affect your ranking, but it would help it if the link you have on their site is using correct anchor text (like one of your target keywords).

    >>> You might want to try Traffic Travis. It not only analyzes your site and that of your competitor's, it also helps with keyword research. They have a free version you can try.

    >>> Yes, and also, submit your RSS feed to to feed sites.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

    Cecille,

    Thanks for the great response.

I'll get my RSS feed out there asap. Any recommendations to sites you use for feed aggregation?

And on the 13K site, yea we do have anchor tags with our URL.

I'll check out the threads here to see what i can find as far as submitting articles to directories.

Can you recommend a thread here or any other links for submitting your RSS? I did some searching last night, but what I found, the sites looked very old, so I wonder if they are still of value?

Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate it... and endaaang.. I'll check out SEO spy glass too.

Sorry, I have yet to try an RSS feed submission myself.

A few of my sites just have the organic traffic come in and actually subscribe to my feeds.

Here is a tip from me that has helped:

Write really, REALLY good articles. It really helps when you are into the niche you are writing about personally. I am an avid video game player and often my game reviews will get picked up by some of the larger gaming news sites, or I will submit them myself. This sends a lot of industry specific traffic to my site, and a lot of times these are other gaming news sites looking for fresh content, and they will subscribe to my feeds. Often times I see my articles getting tweeted and shared all over the place by these guys.

Not really link development, but hey, its a great start for website promotion.

Feel free to ask me any other questions, I don't mind helping out.

Other way of building natural links is searching in Google with your seed keyword and choose discussions, blogs, videos and get links from those forums, blogs, videos sites... this way it would look more natural.
