hey, I had this question in mind for a long time, and I thought I might as well spill it out before it's too late. I have seen many SEO teams saying that we are good off-site optimizers for google(US) and some say google(UK) and so on. Is there any difference in the type of linkbuilding for each of other countries google? Those who achieve 1# in google.com might not for other countries. Why is that so?
Because if someone is searching for a doctor, mortgage, or attorney, they probably don't want an attorney from India if they live in the US so Google uses the IP address to serve results that are more likely to return results for what the searcher is looking for - GEO targeting.
That is just one example - If a site has some info which is common to each person on earth, than will google show that site, if it's properly optimized?
Yes, you want to target specific areas. Have you been in GWT yet? There is actually a button for GEO targeting. Furthermore, yes again, backlinks, relevant directories(by directory I mean local) will also help the cause. What I do to rank things for .co.uk is considerably different than .com hope that helps, Nigel
Yes it will definitely make a hugh difference while link building for specific countries because google search of each country is having different results.. If you want to target Australia people then you need to concentrate on building links for google.com.au.. Hope it helps..
