hi seniors, is link building from relevant pages from irrelevant website ok and is appreciated by Google? For example.. I have created a page about movies in an insurance website (which means I have created a relevant page from irrelevant website) does this count? please note the page i have created is totally related to movies, controlled everything like title, description, tags etc.. the whole page talks only about movies and there is my website link in anchor text. the page is a relevant one to my niche... but as you know the site is irrelevant so, the question is does this count?
I think it may not count legal. Because once Google crawl it, it may be penalized due to irrelevancy.
hi ashleyjohn... so that means your signature link is also counted illegal because it is no where relevant to this page..what you think
I guess that link wouldn't count. The reason why i feel so is, the site where you placed your link doesn't have any relevant content, except for that one page. No other pages would have keywords such as movie, actors, etc. So its obvious that you wanted a link from a high PR site but you couldn't find a relevant one.
You can't control who links to you, so it's not gonna hurt anything. More backlinks = better. As long as YOU'RE not linking out to "bad neighborhoods" you'll be fine.
