    Hi,
    hi

for a newly created website which initially has 5 - 10 pages and which would have more pages later on, along with on page seo off page seo is very important for a search engine to find a newly created website

my question is for such a newly created website what are the various way of going about with link building as more number of links pointing to a new website would be good. from what i know this link building can be done by

going to directories and finding the category and have a link to the website, mentioning links from websites of clients, submitting links in industry specific websites, authoritative websites, having a blog on the new website

what are the other best practices that can be adopted for getting lots of links pointing to a newly created website.

    please advice.

    Thanks,

After doing seo, just startto do link building. You can submit it to directories, social bookmarking and networking sites, article directories, blog comment etc...

You can start performing search engine optimization activities for your new website or blog site because in this way your site/blog will be boost up in ranking. for example directories submissions, article submissions, blog posting, social bookmarking and forum posting on regular basis.

Its a new domain so I just wanted to say that try to build it naturally and do not add more than 15 links a day. That would be helpful as per my SEO experience. Try to add in free directory submission where no reciprocal links required. Best of luck.

you should do some article submission and submit your articles to directories like ezine, goarticles, articledashboard, thefreelibrary etc. Then you could use squidoo and hubpages and use social bookmarking sites.

As you told the website is new and you would like to create more ethical links to pointing to your website. There are several methods.
    1. Article distribution at high PR and fast approval article directories.
    2. Blog commenting at theme related blog posts.
    3. Link Building- One way as well as reciprocal link building for effective results.
    4. Directory submission- free and paid directory submission
    5. RSS Feed Distributiion- Blog and article syndication
    6. Classified directory submission.
    7. Forum posting
    8. Link Wheel creation
    9. Blog Ghost writing.
    10. Market Reputation management
    11. Social Bookmarking
    12. Video Marketing
    13. Paid campaign management and designing.
    14. Search engine submission
    15. Press Release distribution

But i would like to suggest u that you should go for quality work not for quantity work....If you are aware of some seo then you should know that 1 PR-5 link is greater than number of low quality or pr values links.

As outlined by other members, I think the most empasis should be on quality links. These typically would be niche directories and sites that are somehow related to the niche that you are in. Try guest writing for blogs/article sites in the industry niche by using ADvanced link building queries. Also try and include the site in at least Dmoz and Yahoo directory. They help go a long way.

Great fundamentals of link building. Always good to go back and revisit the basics. Thank you for this reminder post. I'm sending a bunch of my web buddies over here to take a look. Finding the right locations to trade links and submit content is very important. Reputable is right!

You can create backlinks for your website by doing some special work, You can join good forums and find questions to your related topics answer them in a neat and clear way so that what your are explaining them should be clear and worth and if you have a article on your blog or website related to the topic then you can leave a link to make them read more for their question.

here is my 1 cent contribution:

some SEO pros recommend is to build an online tool or a downloadable programm that is useful for any webmaster and ask users of your product to link back to your site. that would require lots of technical skills or some financial investment if you are not a programmer but think of long term benefits

The fastest and effective way to gain backlinks is to submit "keyword optimized articles" to high PR directories. As a second step, directory submission can be started.

I don't do search engine submissions. The important ones will find new sites fairly soon anyway.

This advertising mode is known as "link building," and it involves getting other Web sites to link to your site. It's In today's world, there is a lot more to good search engine listings than simply optimizing your site for keywords.
your site by other Web sites.

Submit to social network sites with real dofolow link, all your pages, but with different titles and descriptions. Also in directories and blog comments with real link. Don't do it too fast, maybe no more than 10 links for one site. You can also exchange a few links if you want. Put link to your site in few signatures in forums.
    Good Luck ;)

There is so much conflicting info here. Is it right to take it slow or to jump in with both feet? I am writing articles and submitting them plus I am writing valuable and informative blog posts. I have partaken in blog commenting on relevant sites. (about 10-15 per day).
Fast or slow? What is the right pace?

Move slow and steady especially for new sites, make it more natural in the link development, my best advice is to start of with directory submission then moving to press release.
